Oval Pizza

....or 'Flatbread' as it's being called these days.  Thin, oblong crust,
and in this case, with grilled chicken, roasted fennel and red peppers,
Kalamata olives, smoked provolone, and basil oil. I garnished it with
some of the raw fennel fronds for some color and fresh 'anisey' flavor.

The flavors worked; it's a keeper.

Jersey Fresh

Lawrenceville via Barnegat Light and New Egypt, and my back
doorstep for the herbs.  It was a shitty day if you wanted to sail,
but I had to go down to the boat anyway.  On the bright side,
Ahearns fish market and Krowicki's farmstand are both on the way
home.  Due to the lack of sailing, there was plenty of time to
daydream about what I could make for dinner.  All in all, the day
was far from lost.  Summer's definitely here.

Sushiego

Steve from Spartina posted about his sushi experience
in San Diego.  Lately, he's been providing more
salivary visions than I have, and frankly, I'm somewhat
jealous.  His inside track on raw fish has made me realize
that a half-mile trip up Federal City Road in the very near
future is imminent, and my camera is mandatory luggage.

Hello? Yes.......I'd like to make a reservation.  Will you
have Uni Friday night?  Great.  Seven o'clock, for two?
